VITAMIN-P IS: Not a Vitamin, But is often referred to as one
ALSO KNOWN AS: Citrin, Eriodictyol, Flavones, Hesperetin, Hesperidin, Quercetin, Quercetrin and Rutin

VITAMIN P BENEFITS:
*Enhance the actions of Vitamin C, so should be taken together
*Relieve pain, bumps and bruises caused by injuries
*Reduces pain in legs and back
*Lessen symptoms of prolonged bleeding and low serum calcium
*Have an antibacterial affect
*Promote circulation, Stimulate bile production
*Lower cholesterol levels, Treat and prevent cataracts
*Reduce symptons of oral herpes when taken with Vitamin C
*May help in fighting allergies and asthma
*Helps with absorption of iron

SUPPLEMENTAL P IS:
An "Essential" vitamin, which means,
It cannot be produced from within, or not in sufficienct amounts
It must be found in food or supplements

VITAMIN SOURCES:
Peppers, buckwheat, black currants and the white part of the peel in
Citrus fruits, apricots, blackberries, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, lemons,
Oranges, plums, prunes, rose hips, pine bark, onions, garlic, blueberries
And green tea

DEFICIENCY SIGNS:
Bruising

TOXIC:
Toxicity level must be kept in mind
Do take with Vitamin C
Absorption is slow, small amounts can be stored in the body

TOXICITY SIGNS:
High doses may cause diarrhea

RDA:
500 mg per day is indicated
However, no dosage has been determined

MORE MAY BE REQUIRED IF:
You bruise easily

FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION:
Consider taking a supplement of 1000 mg of Vitamin C and Bioflavonoids
Then 500 mg of each three times per day if suffering from cold sores
