VITAMIN-C IS: A Water Soluble Supplement, An Antioxidant required for 300 metabolic functions

ALSO KNOWN AS: Ascorbic acid, L-ascorbic acid, Dehydroascorbic acid, Antiscorbutic vitamin, L-xyloascorbic acid and last
but not least L-threo-hex-2-uronic acidy-lactone

VITAMIN-C BENEFITS:
*Promotes tissue growth and repair, adrenal gland function, healthy gums
*Protects against pollutants, degenerative diseases
*Promotes proper calcium absorption
*Assists in preventing blood clotting, bruising, and clearing up infections
*Helps to reduce LDL (bad cholesterol),
*While increasing HDL (good cholesterol)

SUPPLEMENTAL C IS:
An "Essential" vitamin, which means,
It cannot be produced from within, or not in sufficienct amounts
It must be found in food or supplements
Most of Vitamin C consumption is lost in the urine
Air, heat, water, prolonged storage, overcooking and processing can destroy Vitamin C

VITAMIN SOURCES:
Berries, Citrus fruits, green vegetables, aspargus, avacados, beet greens, black currants, broccoli, brussels sprouts, canteloupe, collards,
dandelion greens, dulse, grapefruit, kale, lemons, mangos, mustard greens, onions, oranges, papayas, green peas, sweet peppers,
persimmons, pineapple, radishes, rose hips, spinach, strawberries, swiss chard, tomatoes, turnip greens, watercress

DEFICIENCY SIGNS:
Poor wound healing
Bruise easily
Tooth Loss
Gums bleed when brushed
Increased suseptibility to infections
Joint pain
Lack of energy
Poor digestion
Water retention

TOXIC:
Toxic levels are not built up since Vitamin C is water-soluble
Excess is lost in urine
If large amounts are taken, with aspirin, stomach irritation can occur possibly leading to ulcers

TOXICITY SIGNS:
Stomach irritation
Gastrointestinal problems may appear with extremely large doses, however will subside when dosage is decreased
Diarrhea, nausea and abdominal pain
If you have a history of renal stones, mega doses should be aoided

RDA:
60 mg per day
200 to 500 may be most beneficial
Ester C is remarkably effective

MORE MAY BE REQUIRED IF:
When body has been subject to trauma
You have an infection, exercise strenuously
You are a smoker and/or drink alcohol
You are on analgesics, antidepressants, anticoagulants, oral contraceptives, and steroids

FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION:
Take twice daily in divided doses
Esterified vitamin C enters the bloodstream four times faster than standard C
Ester C also stays in the body tissues longer
Only one third as much is lost through urine
